Aloe Vera Juice and Hair

While famous for soothing and healing cuts, scrapes, and sunburns, the uses of aloe vera juice also extend to your hair: it makes for a fantastic, inexpensive, all-natural conditioner, and it may even help to prompt hair growth.

Just as it can be used to moisturize your skin, aloe vera juice can do the same for your hair. Whether you simply have dry strands or your locks are parched from bleach, heat styling, or spending too much time in the sun, coating your hair in aloe vera juice can help to replenish lost moisture. You can use the aloe vera juice alone or mix it with other hair-healthy ingredients, such as olive oil, lemons, or even eggs.

After you wash your hair, apply aloe vera juice or a mixture containing it liberally to your locks, focusing on the ends; let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out as you would any other conditioner. For a deep treatment, you can cover your hair with a shower cap and let the aloe vera juice sit for an hour or two before rinsing it out.

Aloe vera juice also has potential when it comes to stimulating hair growth. Outside of its moisturizing properties, this natural elixir contains macrophages and superoxide dismutase, which can help to stimulate hair growth when applied to the scalp. To use aloe vera juice for hair growth, apply the juice to your scalp, working it in gently, and then let it sit for as long as possible before washing it out, preferably overnight. This can also help to relieve dandruff and sooth irritation.

Aloe vera juice benefits have long be touted for internal use as a nutritional supplement, and most famously for sun burn relief, but next time you looking to revitalize your hair, reach for some aloe vera juice. For best results, try making homemade aloe vera juice instead of buying the aloe vera gel you find at the store.
