Here is a wonderful juicing recipe for combining the antioxidant benefits of berries with the nutrient dense and alkalizing benefits of leafy greens. This recipe calls for kale and spinach, but feel free to use just kale or spinach if you don’t have both handy. Spinach is more on the mild side if you are trying to avoid some of the potential bitterness of the greens.
This recipe also calls for cucumber which helps to water down the recipe and keep the calories down if you are juicing for weight loss. The berries are also relatively low in calories and sugar to help satisfy your cravings but not hurt your diet if that is the goal.
2 handfuls of spinach
3 large kale leafs
2 cups fresh berries (strawberries and blackberries)
Wash and process the ingredients as you typically would and for what works best in your particular juicer. Add the spinach and kale through first followed by the cucumber to help push all the leafy green goodness through. Add the berries through and enjoy. I try to use whatever berries seem the most juicy since berries can add a bit of cost to the juice.
