As the weather is cooling off, there are not many better ways to heat up on a cool evening than a hot spiced apple cider. This juicing recipe allows you to enjoy this delicious treat but also have the benefits of juicing at the same time. Try not to overheat the juice after you finished juicing so you do not eliminate some of the more heat sensitive nutrients and enzymes.
I usually heat up this juice on the stove and heat it up just hot enough to enjoy the hot beverage without the temperature getting to high. The key is to keep the juice as alive as possible by getting it just hot enough to recreate the experience of a hot apple cider.
1/4 inch ginger ( more to taste if you want more spice)
1 teaspoon cinnamon ( more or less to taste)
Wash and process the ingredients as you normally would and for what works best in the juicer. Peel the lemon so you are only putting the lemon slices through the juicer. Put the ginger in first and then following with the apple and lemon slices. Put the finished juice in a saucepan and add in the cinnamon as you stir it. Do not overheat the juice so you keep the juice as alive as possible.
