With pomegranate season upon us once again, it’s a great opportunity to make fresh pomegranate juice from home. Pomegranate is one of those amazing fruits that offers a tremendous amount of health benefits ranging from supporting heart health to prostate health in men.
There are several ways you can juice a pomegranate.
Below are 2 of the easier methods:
1) Citrus Juicer (hand operated). Cut your pomegranate in ½ like you would a grapefruit and press the pomegranate down like you would with any citrus fruit.
2) Juicer – If you have a traditional juicer, you can put just the seeds through the juicer to extract the juice. You can use a spoon to remove the seed and try to not juice the membrane as it can make the juice bitter.
Either way you choose to juice your pomegranates, you might need about 3 to 5 depending on how much juice you want to create. 1 pomegranate typically yields about ½ cup of juice. Also, keep in mind, pomegranate juice can stain, so use appropriate caution if you are wearing any clothes you care about.
