Grapefruits are well known for their fat burning potential not only for being lower in calories, but for some of the nutrients in this wonderful fruit that helps the process along. I prefer using red grapefruits because they have a little more sweetness to them but then combine with cucumber to further reduce the sugar and mellowing out the tartness of the finished juice.

You can do this same recipe with traditional grapefruit, but this may be too tart for some. However, the cucumber does help to mellow this out, so might be worth a try for you.

Ingredients:

2 ruby red grapefruits
1 cucumber
Directions:

Wash and process the ingredients as you typically would. Peel the grapefruits so you just are putting the slices through the juicer. Add in the cucumber peeled or not and enjoy. Serve over ice for a summer time treat.
